Kaihang Wang
Assistant Professor of Biology and Biological Engineering
Expertise
Novel DNA writing capacities across scales from single nucleotide to large DNA and whole genomes
Profile
DNA encodes the functions and forms of all living systems. Following the discovery, sequencing, and editing of DNA, we are entering a new era of designing and writing large DNA molecules and entire genomes. Wang's research aims to enable the design and construction of synthetic DNA of any sequence, and the ultimate writing of synthetic genomes across diverse biological systems, creating broad opportunities across biotechnology, medicine, agriculture, and environmental engineering.
